A Sunset Ride with JRDM (14 Nov 2026)

This is a collaboration ride with Joe Rascal Ducati Melbourne.

Dealer Principal Alex has asked me to lead a ride from JRDM Saturday 14th November '26 with the brief being to lead a ride from JRDM , where refreshments will be supplied, to Burkes Lookout in the Dandenong Ranges. Alex would like this to be a relatively short relaxed ride on Saturday afternoon for DOCV members and other invited Ducati owners of the dealership.

This , we believe, would be a great way to meet and greet some new Ducati owners and bring them into the DOCV cohort and see what we are about.

Some come along for a nice afternoon's ride. I have created ,hopefully , a bit of a fun route running east along the Yarra river then further east through Camberwell , Burwood , Vermont to The Basin then running up Ferndale Rd almost to Beagleys Bridge. A few more twisties up through Olinda into My Dandenong with the final destination being the old SkyHigh restaurant now known as 'The Giants Chair'. Aprox. 60kms

Here we will hopefully get a great photo opportunity for a sensational 'Sunset group Pic' of our magnificent machines.

Whittlesea The Long way (1/2 day ride) (15 Nov 2026)

This is just short ride starting at Platter’s Cafe, Diamond Creek and finishing in Whittlesea for a late lunch at the ‘Lady Sevin’ cafe. We’ll do a bit of a loop from Diamond Ck to Kinglake, round through Healesville and Toolangi , the Chum Ck Rd , back to Kinglake and down to Whittlesea for lunch. Total of 100kms, we won’t even have to refuel!

Stands up 1030 from Platter's Cafe , Diamond Ck.

You'll be home for the afternoon.

Dargo Weekend 28/29 November

Bookings open 04th October @ 8.00pm

Departure; The Eating House at 08.30am with a full tank

Accommodation booked at Dargo are all the motel rooms and Dargo Central

Motel accommodation is for genuine couples until the 3rd November, then any remaining rooms can be taken up as single accommodation. Book as a single and drop me an email (grloe@aussieb.com.au) requesting an upgrade and I will generate a list in order of request. If rooms become available I will create a room upgrade category and you will then pay the difference.

Dargo Central has two single rooms with a king single, the rest is shared accomm. with a total of seven guests.

The evening meal is booked for 7.00pm so plenty of time to relax and socialise before hand.

Nar Nar Goon is where the ride will finish.

Starting with a coffee at Platter’s Cafe around 0930. We’ll be looking for a departure at 1000. Please arrive with a full tank as the next stop for fuel will be in Alexandra where we will stop for lunch at the Corner Hotel. The aim is to traverse, as possible, the Murrindindi River with a fun run (as per usual ) on the Whanregaren Rd, a personal favourite . Returning through Caveat and Ghin Ghin and on to either Whittlesea or Kinglake for a departure coffee and /or cake for whoever needs the sugar.

This is an easy fun enjoyable ride with a good feed.

Taking in the magnificent scenery of Gippsland’s finest countryside we will literally traverse the same roads on our return because they are that good.

Venus Bay Vitamin (Midweek) (6 Jan 2027)

Summer is here and the beach is a calling. Its time for some Vitamin D on the bones. Departing from Butler's 0900 sharp.

The plan is to meander down through the Grand Ridge Rd to Mirboo Nth then Dumbaulk and Fish Ck. Have lunch in Tarwin Lower at 'The Bird & Wolf' cafe then return via Inverloch, Wonthaggi. With a focus on the Bena / Kongwak Rd. There are some great roads on this ride so put in your diary and register on our website.

This is a big ride and better suited to the experienced rider.

The whole trip will be aprox 400km

Our annual New Year BBQ Meeting at the banks of the Yarra.

JRDM has offered to hold our annual BBQ ... and they are 'shouting'.

James and Alex have very kindly offered to put on a BBQ with a difference at the home of Ducati in Melbourne for us to open the new year. So put this one in your diary as we celebrate the new year with a difference at Joe Rascal Ducati Melbourne.

So come one come all.

Alex (Dealer Principal) wants to put on a night for us all to remember. There will be door prizes, Motorcycle awards (best bike etc) so get your best girl all bright and shiny and bring her down.

Australia Day 3 day Ride (25 Jan 2027)

3 Day Unsealed Ride

This will be majority unsealed roads. Not suited to road bikes.

Day 1 will traverse the south gippy countryside finishing at Morwell.

Day 2 we will travel to Swifts Creek thru the Vic High Country, have lunch, then return to Morwell.

Day 3 will traverse the gippy countryside finishing at Nar Nar Goon.

Accommodation is available at;

They have 6 Queen Rm @ $120/per night

6 Twin Share @ $135/per night

Book your own accommodation.

Dinner Day 1 will be at my place, a short 1.1Km walk (it will get rid of the lactic acid from the ride) from the motel. We shall order pizza.

Dinner Day 2 will be at the Italian/Australian Club, next door to the motel.

Now if you are a road rider only and think riding to Swifts Creek sounds like a good idea, you are quite welcome to join us at the start and end of each day and in Swifts Creek.

You are welcome to bring your mates, as I will have a few of my usual riding buddies attending.
