New Year Strathbogie Ride

We have skipped New Years Day to run this on a Monday. It will leave from Healesville and head for a shady lunch at Euroa's Seven Creeks Hotel. A magnificent 360 degree view from Mt Wombat, near Strathbogie, is a morning highlight.

The ride will finish at Yarra Glen's Grand Hotel in a day of around 320 km....there is versatility if the weather is extra hot or wet. 

Attenzione!! - Accessing and returning from Mt Wombat involves 4 km of reasonable gravel road, plus 2.8 km each way of semi-surfaced track. The track is mostly smooth(ish) and gently sloping. The final pinch is steep but concreted to facilitate 2WD access to a fire lookout and Telstra towers. It is not recommended for novices but is otherwise OK in summer conditions and if separation is maintained between riders. More will be said at the briefing. Anyone opting out can travel ahead and regroup over lunch at nearby Euroa.
