This is a pre ride to meet up with the main group for the Grand Final Day w/e ride, for those of us who live in the north or for those who want a bit extra for their long weekend ride in order to arrive at the 'official' starting point of the Grand Final Day w/e ride.

Taking aprox 2hrs for 180 kms. Aim to arrive here by 0900 for a quick coffee and briefing.
Departing from the Caltex service station 307 Diamond Creek Rd, St Helena at 0930.

The aim of the ride is to take boredom out of doing the Geelong Rd and put a little extra into the tour. Heading north toward Whittlesea we'll then traverse across through Wallan , Romsey. From here we'll move south to Gisbourne, Bacchus Marsh then down the C704 to Lovely Banks BP service centre. For an approximate 1200 arrival.

In the tradition of Grand Final heritage we are heading back to our Port Campbell roots. I will try and make the route there and back as varied as possible and Co-Captain Glenn will be offering an optional (for the more adventurous) 'adventure' route to match up along the way with our ride. Our ride down will go via Barwon Downs, Forrest down to Skenes Ck. Stopping for a break in Apollo Bay. From there we will run the B100 'The Great Ocean Rd' through Lavers Hill and Princetown onto Port Campbell. I plan the return trip to be a different route to Lavers Hill then run the C155 across to Skenes Ck. Coast Rd to Lorne then run the C151 up to Deans Marsh. We'll run the this back into Geelong and the 'Lovely Banks' service station for a refuel for our run home.

This ride now has 3 options. Couples, Twin share and Provide your own accommodation.

I will also be running a separate start ride, for those who live in the north, from Plenty to Lovely Banks. Starting in Plenty at 1000

Our official meeting point will be the BP service station 'Lovely Banks' at 1230.                    455 Geelong Ring Rd, Corio. Click on link below.

Mark the date for a double night getaway. I have arranged accomodation for us at the Southern Ocean Motor inn

Friday night dinner will be at 'Waves Cafe Bar and Restaurant'.

Saturday night dinner will be at the 'Port Campbell Hotel'.This will be the same location for viewing the match.

On Saturday 2 options will be offered for riding. One for those who want to be back in time to watch the match and one for those who don't. For those of you who may just want to have the Saturday 'off' The Port Campbell National Park has a lot offer in coastal viewing with geologic formation landmarks such as 'London Bridge' and 'The Razorback'.

John Lyon has very kindly offered to lead this ride on behalf of Chris as he has the memory of a house brick and already had a prior engagement.

Starting with a coffee at Platter’s Cafe around 0900. We’ll be looking for a departure at 0930. Please arrive with a full tank as the next stop for fuel will be in Alexandra where we will stop for lunch at the Corner Hotel. The aim is to traverse, as far as possible, the Murrindindi River with a fun run (as per usual ) on the Whanregaren Rd, a personal favourite  . Returning through Caveat and Ghin Ghin and on to either Whittlesea or Kinglake for a departure coffee and /or cake for whoever needs the sugar.

An itinerary with route, catering and stay arrangements will be emailed to registrants in the week before.

Registration includes two nights of accommodation and pre-payment of two meals.

Those doing their own thing on Sunday can opt out BEFORE the close-off. Special dietary requirements also need to be known early.

The day starts from Diamond Creek and is a full morning that takes in Murrindindi, Limestone, a break at Alexandra, Skyline Road to Eildon and eventually Snobs Creek Bar & Bistro for lunch.

The route is similar to our Bonfire Station Ride earlier this year and bypasses a large section of Melba Hwy for the price of 4 km of easy dirt. A return over Black Spur will see an early finish at Healesville, plus or minus a side trip on the sealed bit of Acheron Way if conditions are good. Total distance is 220 - 250 km, plus commutes.

If you've not been on a ride for a while and need to blow the cobwebs out then this is for you!

This ride has been prompted by and will be lead by our illustrious editor Neil. Current plan is an 'easyish' ride to Longwood pub for lunch via Ruffy.

All members are encouraged to join this ride , even if you don't have one of those numbers.

Plan your commute to the Platters Cafe to arrive no later than 9am, as we have various formalities to cover-off before we depart. Usually before a ride, we like to have a coffee, introduce ourselves to one another and have a bit of a chat. So most will tend to come at least 45 minutes before departure time.

A fun route with nothing too challenging at a comfortable pace.

Established members are encouraged to get involved in the spirit of the event.

Please note: registration cut-off is 3 days before the event.

Important: please take the time to acquaint yourselves with the club's riding protocols and etiquette. Your booking and participation in the ride will assume you have and requires it.

The 2024 Tiger Hunt is set. There are two nights at Wynyard, a single night in Queenstown, then double night stays in Hobart and St Helens. You need to get yourself to our breakfast briefing at Devonport's Argosy Motor Inn by 7 am on Saturday February 10 with a full tank, fresh tyres (seriously) and faith in the leadership!

The format is a little different for this one with opportunity to switch between three groups on most days. The groups will run in parallel and have sport touring, 'tailored' dirt (to suit average experience on the day) and tourist foci. Hunters can also hive off and do their own thing at any time, as always.

The event is capped at 36 riders. Pillions and tagalongs do not count toward the cap but a registration deposit of $190 is required from all. It will be applied to a spread of things including a quality event T shirt, our breakfast briefing in Devonport and Tiger Hunt Dinner in Hobart. Any refunds will reduce in line with commitments made by the Club. No refunds will be made after January 28.

Trip Notes will be issued soon after registration. They outline the itinerary with everything you need to book ahead. Hunters are encouraged to make their Spirit bookings, however, promptly after signing on. Expect plenty of company if you choose the day or evening sailing on Friday 9th and return on the evening sailing on Saturday 17th..

A contact list will be distributed within the group to assist interaction and sharing initiatives. The default is that you are on the list...please advise promptly if you want your email or mobile withheld as the list will go out in the first communication.

A Waitlist will operate should demand exceed places - don't be discouraged if the event fills early.
