Regrettably cancelled owing to the extension of Victoria's Lockdown #6
You know the long, hot Licola ride in February. Well this is a cold, wet but short ride to Tallarook in August. They are calendar opposite but Indian summer conditions are possible. Certainly it is nearing the end of winter and worth a shot for a day out of town.
It is a Sunday ride leaving Platters at 9:45. We will fit most of the action in the morning including something of the Cobaw Ranges and the boulder-strewn, granite country around Pyalong. Lunch is at the refurbished Tallarook Hotel and followed by a return ride to Healesville.
An 'easy' rated day but does include two unsealed roads that add to 4 km. Both roads help avoid busy ones as well as make for an interesting route. Take comfort they won’t be dusty.
Total distance is 280 km. Leave behind Gortex, thermals and Pinlock at your peril.
