Red Plate Ride (Tour of the Reservoirs)

Recent Red Plate events have been successful rides but have not attracted enough old bikes, so let's get them out there, they are made to be ridden not stored. Our Club Permits and Spares officer Daryl Grant will lead this ride around the Yarra Valley, with frequent stops for some banter, taking in the Maroondah and Sugar Loaf Reservoirs with a stop for lunch at Yarra Glen Hotel, continuing on via Sugarloaf reservoir, Panton Hills and Hurstbridge to Warrrandyte for those wanting a bit more of ride and finishing at the Shell 482 Ringwood -Warrandyte Rd. This one is on a Sunday and with a plan of “less canter, more banter”.

Distance is around 130 km in an arc between Lilydale and Warrandyte. Lunch is at Yarra Glen Hotel and with other pauses makes for an unhurried and chatty day.

Even if you don't have time for a ride or are a bit worried about the distance (or reliability!) turn up for a coffee and a yarn, either in the morning in Lillydale or lunch at Yarra Glen.
