  The Treasurers Travels

  Depart: BP Bulla at 10:00, November 23rd

  Spring is on the way out and with Summer just around the corner the Treasurer will be leading a ride out west. This ride is one that I'd classify as pretty easy, so it should be a nice relaxing day out and a great opportunity for newer members to scratch that itch and come for a ride with the club.

  
  

  The plan is for a leisurely jaunt out west, some roads I've done on other club rides and some I've done in my mis-spent youth. Departing from BP Bulla we'll wind our way out to Trentham for a comfort stop. From there we'll head south through Blackwood and Ballan on our way to Buninyong. If we have time we'll take a small detour up the mountain before heading down into the township to refuel. South again through Mount Doran then on to Meredith for lunch at Meredith Hotel. 

  
  

  After lunch we'll have a relatively short afternoon on our way home through Durdiwarrah, Rowsley and Bacchus March before finishing up at Melton. Total distance is just shy of 250kms plus commutes, and we're on sealed roads all the way.

  The ride will depart Ampol Morwell at 8.00am.

  It is an unsealed/track type ride. There is nothing too challenging apart from a very long day, some rocky stuff, not big just bumpy, some people you don't know (the locals I ride with), 540Km of twisty brown stuff interspersed with a bit of bitumen.

  There will be scenery you will never have seen before, tracks you will never have ridden on before and memories that will live with you for a very long time, and also get to eat at the Swifts Creek pub.

  UPDATE Swifts Creek Pub currently closed. If hasn't reopened we will go to either Omeo or Buchan, a bit and a fair bit longer day.
  

  So don't delay, get out today and purchase that adventure bike you have been dreaming about now.

  Any bitumen burning riders who wish to join us are welcome to tag along to the first unsealed road then peel off and meetup at Swifts Creek.

• Big Hot Licola Ride

  This is the Big Hot Long Ride to Licola, which has become an annual event. Departing Emerald at 09:30:00 for a solid day of 450 km plus commutes. The name says it all - not a day for chit-chat, barista stops or gourmet eating. There'll be a hot pie at the turn (maybe an ice cream) and cold beverage at the finish. 

  Fuel stop at Moe and again at Heyfield on the way home so you'll need a fuel range of at least 170 Km and the ability to maintain the speed limit. This is a ride for experienced sports/tourers. Arrive from 9am with a full tank or earlier with an empty belly if you want breakfast.

  This is to find out if there is any interest in running a 3 day ride over the March Long Weekend. Being same weekend as the Aussie F1 and very shortly before the Tiger Hunt there may not be much to zero interest.

  
  

  If you are genuinely interested please tick the box. Accommodation is limited to twin share. If not all rooms filled then loner (single) accommodation will become available.

  The accommodation venue will remain a mystery until you actually arrive.

  The roads to be ridden will be well used country roads with an unsealed surface and possibly some well used forestry trails.

  The 2026 Tiger Hunt is set. Which will be 2 nights at St Helens, 2 nights in Hobart, 2 nights in Tullah then a final single night in Smithton before heading back to Devonport for the overnight sail home on Saturday night 21st March.

  Please be aware that Tullah twin share is now a triple share. (That is 3 people to a room) All twin share has been taken. If you want you can find your own accomodation in Strahan if you wish. This will not affect our itinerary as we will be passing through or near Strahan each day.

  You will need to get yourself to our breakfast briefing at Devonport's Argosy Motor Inn by  0800 am on Saturday 14th March with a full tank, fresh tyres (seriously) and faith in the leadership!

  The format is a little different for this one with opportunity to switch between two groups on most days. The groups will run in parallel and have a sport touring cohort and a 'tailored' dirt (to suit average experience on the day) with tourist cohort. Hunters can also hive off and do their own thing at any time, as always.

  The event is capped at 28 riders. This includes pillions and tagalongs who count toward the cap as accomodation is unfortunately limited.  

  Registration deposit will be $340per person for a twin share. This will be applied to a range of things including accomodation on our final night in Smithton at the 'Tall Timbers' resort including a 2 course dinner that night and a fully cooked breakfast the next day before we depart for the final day's ride to Devonport. Your deposit also covers you for a 3 course buffet dinner on our first night in St Helens at the 'Panorama hotel' a quality event T shirt and of course our breakfast briefing in Devonport at the Argosy. Any refunds will reduce in line with commitments made by the Club. No refunds will be made after 14th February 2026.

  Trip Notes will be issued soon after registration. They outline the itinerary with everything you need to book ahead including accomodation. Hunters are encouraged to make their Spirit bookings, however, promptly after signing on. Expect plenty of company if you choose the day or evening sail on Friday 13th March and return on the evening sail on Saturday 21st March.

  A contact list will be distributed within the group to assist interaction and sharing initiatives. The default is that you are on the list...please advise promptly if you want your email or mobile withheld as the list will go out in the first communication.

  A Waitlist will operate should demand exceed places - don't be discouraged if the event fills early.

                         **** Mini Turismo. 2026 ****

  This weekend will focus around Heyfield. With rides up Licola , Dargo and Toora.

  The plan for this one is for one or two nights accomodation in Heyfield. The choice is yours. You can choose just to stay Saturday night and ride home Sunday afternoon or you can stay Saturday and Sunday nights then ride home Monday. 

  All prices include Accomodation , Breakfast and Banquet Dinners each night.      (Breakfast is an Egg & Bacon Roll and a coffee)  

  Remember this is not an advertised long weekend however the Saturday is Anzac Day.

  I have booked out the entire hotel in Heyfield at 'The Lodge', Temple St , Heyfield.         We have created a one and two night package including banquet dinners on both nights in our pricing with an Italian themed night Saturday night in honour of our 50 years as a club in Australia. We will have the entire hotel to ourselves which includes:                              2 separate lounge rooms, dining room and our own Bar (staffed - of course)              There is a secure lock up area for our motorcycles.

  Saturday 25th April. Starting from Butler's in Rowville we will take a a bit of wander up to Heyfield arriving aproximately midday. Here we have an outdoor BBQ lunch arranged for us by Neil Cater of 'The Heyshed Motorcycle Shed' Just up the road 5 minutes from the hotel. After lunch we'll go for a run up to Licola and back or you can sit back and relax in Heyfield. Dinner will be at The Lodge. Banquet Style - Italian themed

  Sunday 26th April. It's a day up to Dargo and back and the surrounding areas with a return coming around from the southeast for those who need to return home to Melbourne that night   (or for those who can only do the one night stay).                                          For those who will be staying on for the two nights.                                                Dinner will be at The Lodge. Banquet Style - Mexican themed.

  Monday 27th April. We leave the sunny acres of Heyfield and head south to Toora where we will traverse the coastline down Wilson's Promontory , Inverloch & Wonthaggi ultimately winding up in Pakenham where the tour will officially finish. However for those who want to continue Northwest I will continue the ride up through Gembrook to Seville and onto Yarra Glen.

  All Accommodation are bunk share rooms for singles with shared bathrooms.

  There are 5 x couples rooms which are separate bedrooms with shared bathrooms.

  In the event that all ‘couples’ rooms are not taken I will create a waitlist for those who would like one of these rooms. These rooms would require an extra $40 per night should they become available to you. The waitlist will be created by who contacts me first via email advising me of this request. I can assure you that all rooms and facilities are clean and neat and very well laid out as the hotel has only recently been renovated.
